Development Project for the Wilderness Museum 

Project Duration: January 1, 2020 – May 31, 2021 

Funding: Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry 

At the beginning of 2020, the Hunting Museum of Finland and the Fishing Museum Association of Finland initiated a project to establish a new museum, supported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the Ministry of Education and Culture, and the Finnish Heritage Agency. The project duration for the development of the Wilderness Museum was January 1, 2020 – May 31, 2021, and it was carried out in collaboration with Metsähallitus. Timo Kukko served as the project manager during the project and its subsequent actions. 

As a result of the location competition, Imatra was selected as the location for the new museum. The Wilderness and Nature Culture Museum will be situated in the current town hall of Imatra.
